Protecting Your Foster Kittens
Foster kittens do not have the immune systems against disease and bacteria that older cats have. Young kittens are very susceptible to disease and bacteria so they should be kept separate from your resident pets until they are at least four weeks of age. Also, if you foster more than one litter, they should be kept separately and your hands should be washed after handling each litter. This means separate environments, food and water dishes, litterboxes.
