What Needs To Be Done
|
Spaying or Neutering
A male cat will be neutered and a female cat will be spayed.
The minimum requirements at most spay/neuter clinics is the cat/kitten has to be at least eight weeks old, 2 pounds, and in good health.
You should receive instructions on what to do after the surgery.
Some veterinarians will not spay or neuter before 12 weeks of age.
It is a good idea to make your appointment early if you are using a low cost spay/neuter clinic or Humane Society, as the high volume of spay/neuter surgeries (especially September through December) may create a waiting list for an appointment.
